To carry out the new evangelisation, I think the Church that is in Africa needs first of all the following elements:
- some holy Bishops, men of prayer
- some holy priests, men of prayer;
- some holy Catechists, men and women of prayer;
- some holy lay faithful, men and women of prayer;
- some holy married couples who devote themselves
together to prayer;
- young girls and boys who like to devote themselves
to prayer;
- communities who pray, worship and constantly
praise the Lord.
In other words, for the new Evangelisation, Africa needs men, women and young people from all walks of life who pray and ardently wish sanctity. A radical renewal in the life of prayer is urgently necessary for a new Christian Africa that is emerging.
