Bishop
Léon LESAMBO
(Bishop of Inongo, Zaire)

The big theme of the Synod is Evangelisation.
I wish to underline at numbers 2 and 7 the big obstacle caused by the discordant
gospels inside the church beginning by Europe.
The religious agreement of will and
intelligence towards the Magisterium which Lumen Gentium n.25 demands
for definite truths and authentic Magisterium of the Sovereign Pontiff
will avoid many disagreements which we deplore in the sects. It is so easy
to preach our ideas instead of the Gospel under coverage of dialogue, spirit
of initiative, inculturation and even biblical apostolate.
As regards inculturation (nos. 16-18)
of the evangelic message, I think we do not exploit our own experience
enough. The Fathers of the Synod have not a superficial but a deep Christianism.
Therefore, they are really Christians and Africans. What is this Catechism
which has touched them so well to make them deep Christians? What, in their
personal prayer, has struck their soul of Africans? How many mines are
to be exploited in the efforts of inculturation?
